Guest Instructors

Tony Minieri

Tony Minieri will be teaching Chicago Du Soie in the store May 11 through 14. His latest Tea Pot will be on May 15 and 16. Reservations must be made by March 16. Please call for information, E-Mail, or come into the stor for information. The class is limited in size, so please call and register early.

As always, Knit one, Stitch Too is always looking for guest instructors. Check in regularly for any and all updates and we will get them to you as soon as we have them.

Classes

"Ongoing Class" listed below in the calender refers to the Ongoing Knitting and Stitching Class. For the Sock Class, each person must buy the Sock Book and Yarn at the store to attend, and then you can attend as many Saturday Sock Classes you would like at no charge. For all classes, space is limited so please place your reservation by Wednesday before the class, thank you. There will be regular classes while Tony Minieri is teaching his class.

WINTER-SUMMER 2009/2010 CLASS INFORMATION

If you’ve never picked up needles or a hook, (or if your skills are very rusty) we offer a one hour Learn to Knit or Crochet class. This private class can be scheduled any time with two days notice and will cover the basics you need to work simple projects, or to join one of our other classes. The $50.00 plus tax fee covers instruction and supplies.

We also offer on-going regular classes in knitting, crochet, and needlepoint by the month, or semester. These meet at the same time each week (either Tuesday, or Wednesday 7 – 9 pm, or Friday or Saturday 10 – noon). Each student works on an individual project. Classes are small so everyone has plenty of individual help. Class materials (except scissors and needles) MUST be purchased at Knit One, Stitch Too. The semester fee is $280 for the semester starting June 1, and $200 for the semester starting January 1. Monthly fees are $65 per calendar month. Single classes are $20 and are available any time.

We offer a number of other workshops and project classes designed to teach specific items, such as socks, or concepts like math for knitters. These will be announced with flyers as they are scheduled. The Moonlight Madness schedule through 2010 is available now. You’ll get Knit One, Stitch Too University credits for all classes. The graduation sale is June 6, 2010. This is always our best sale so be ready.

If you’d like help with a project you didn’t buy in the store, you’re welcome to bring it in outside class hours. There’s never a charge for a few minutes of help. If you need more than that, or would like a private class, instruction is $8.00 for 15 minutes. If you’re interested in other classes, or classes at other times, please let us know. We’ll do our best to arrange them.

While babes in arms are always welcome, please make arrangements for your other children during class hours. Students need to be at least 16 to attend classes. Younger children will enjoy our kid’s classes.

SUPER SOCK SATURDAYS

We’ll be meeting from 2:00 to 4:00 pm every Saturday to offer you help and inspiration as you make your super socks. You can join us every week or just when you feel you need help. There is no charge for the classes, but you must register and buy your book and sock yarn in the store.

We’ll be using Queen Kahuna’s Crazy Toes & Heels Socks. It is the best sock book I’ve ever seen. The directions and pictures are fabulous and detailed enough that you will understand it all. The book is 100 pages with a protected soft cover, and spiral binding so it lies flat while you’re knitting. The cost is $30, and it’s worth every penny. We have some great new sock yarn or you can use any yarn you like including worsted weight for boot socks. Queen Kahuna walks us through toe up socks on one or two circular needles (with directions for double points if you prefer) that are tailored to your individual feet. The results are wonderful. You can even do both socks at the same time and avoid the dreaded “second sock syndrome.”

Moonlight Madness

Moonlight Madness is an event we hold from 6 pm to 11 pm on select Fridays. We have dinner and a luscious dessert, and there’s always a chocolate break at 10:00 pm. Our knitting and stitching teachers are ready to help you with any questions, problems, or challenges you have, or help you start something new and exciting. Since this is a regular class, all your materials except needles and scissors MUST have been purchased from us and you get credit toward our Graduation Party and Sale in June. The fee is $35, space is limited, and reservations are required. Please make them by the Wednesday before class.
